I’ve seen this quote before, and I agree with it so much! I firmly believe that reading is the cheapest vacation you can ever go on. When I read (and I don’t know how it is for everyone else) I literally feel what the characters are feeling. That can be good…. and bad. So if someone went through an emotional roller coaster and then a break up, I’m going to be pretty upset for a while. But if they are describing how completely in love they are, I’m going to be so happy I’ll be grinning for hours. My point is, reading is something that is overlooked by the generation above me, and my own. People underestimate it so much, it’s sad. Reading helps you educate yourself, lets you question where you are (mostly in a good way), shapes you, opens you to different opinions, and lets you escape. I love reading more than possibly anything else, though so many people I know find it tiresome and a chore. I encourage you to read, more than anything else.
