Quote #5

I was looking for a nature quote this morning, and I found this. It really is true, isn’t it? That feeling when you go outside and you just feel like you BELONG. But at first you’re like, “Ugh, I do not want to go outside!” but once you’re out there you never want to come back. That feeling is so amazing. When it happens to me, I feel very detached from technology. I think that’s a good thing, though. I love technology, it allows me to communicate with friends and family I can’t do in person on a regular basis. But it is good to spend time away from technology for a while. Especially when you go somewhere you absolutely love, like a forest, lake or mountain, for example. I wish you all happy adventures!

This was a fun quote to do, because I know that exact feeling. It is really true, but rarely voiced out loud into accurate words. I am doing a few more nature quotes in the future, so make sure to read them!

I don’t know what type of superhuman you are if you can get up in the morning in a good mood. I don’t love mornings, I hate getting out of bed. But I do understand the feeling when you decide to feel good and make others happy. I love making others happy. So, I’ve been sick for the past four days, and I hope every morning that I can go back to school. Today, I cannot (again) but I’m going to dedicate this day to make my mom and dad smile. Since they have to put up with me for the WHOLE day. 🙂 Anyways, I know this sounds incredibly cheesy and cliché, but go out into the world in the morning and make people happy. I promise you, you’ll feel better.

Number Four in the series. This one was really short and happy, I hope. Hope you enjoyed it!

Pics For > Quotes About Suicide Prevention

So I have about two best friends my age, and one of them moved to a big city. I miss her so much. I wish she knew that she can tell me anything, because she can. She has had a rough life, and I don’t blame her for wanting to commit suicide. I have thought about it myself, after all, I think most of us do at one point in our lives. I wish she would have talked to me about, though. But the thing I am most proud of is that she did get help. And that person she talked to is a wonderful person, for she saved my best friend’s life.

Here’s what I want to say to every person who wants to commit suicide;

Please. Don’t. Even if life is rough and you feel like you cannot go on, please do. You may not have found your purpose yet, but it is there. I know it. I may not know you, and you may not know me, but I know every person is special and has a role in this world. So, please. Don’t.

Number 3! How did you guys like it? Sorry for all the gloomy posts, I’ll do a happy one tomorrow!

Quote #2

I had this friend and I thought we were going to be best friends forever. I used to be part of the circle and now I'm not. And to be honest, it's OK. Find friends that will always support you and don't make you cry unless it's with laughter.

So, I asked my sister to search for a quote she liked so I could discuss it on here. Let’s just say it took about 45 minutes for us to agree on one. This one hits right to home, because of my sister. When we moved, I was happy and sad. I was leaving my best friend, but I was happy for my sister. In our old town, she always felt that she never really had a true friend. And some of the people in her class were kind, but she never felt secure with any of them, to no fault of their own. I remember the feeling of joy and hope when a new girl came into my sister’s class, hoping she would be the one. I used to think one of them would be the one. Usually, I was wrong. But now, in our new town, she has two amazing best friends. I have met them and they seem amazing. I continue to pray that they are the perfect friends for my sister, as she needs them. Best friends are invaluable in this fragile world. I also know that we all think we have the best friend which, in a way, we do. Each of our best friends walked into our lives by chance and we are perfect for each other.

Second one! I  hope you liked this! My sister says hi! Leave a comment on what you thought about this, or go on the Contact page and email me. Thank you!

Quote #1

This quote reminded me of my best friend. The world has nothing against one person in particular. It has everything against each and every human on this planet. But who makes it that way? Us. We do. Thoughts that chase people around and around their heads do this. They make us think the world is out to get us, but it’s really not. It’s you. You are the one who can chose what you do each and every day of your life. The world isn’t after you, you are. Who puts you down the most? Your mind. My best friend was devastated when I moved away (so was I). She is battling hard with her demons, but so am I. She is not alone, and neither am I. The world seems like a cruel and hard place, but it’s really an opportunity. An opportunity to help the people who are like you. So, go out into the world with a good attitude (I know that sounds extremely cheesy) and you’ll get something great out of it.

A lot of the people who read this are going to forget all about it and say, “Well, you know, she’s right! I should be more happy!” but then are not going to do that at all. But please, don’t forget this; the world needs you here. Why else are you here?

The first quote in a series of them; hope you enjoy! Leave a comment and tell me what you think or another quote you want me to evaluate!

23 Emotions People Feel, but can’t Explain

23 Emotions People Feel But Cannot Explain (via the dictionary of obscure sorrows )

So I was scrolling down on Pinterest, just because, when I saw this Pin that caught my eye. It said, “23 Feelings People Feel, but can’t Explain.” I read it and I thought it was fascinating! I remembered, also, the movie Inside Out by Disney when I read this. For those of you who haven’t watched it, it is about a girl named Riley and her emotions are put into people. Anger, Sadness, Joy, Fear, and Disgust. They can all make memories which are transported to “Long-Term Memory.” You get the idea. Anyways, these words got me thinking; humans do not have straightforward emotions, right? We can’t just feel sadness, joy, anger, etc. We have complex brains and nervous systems. We can feel many things, some of them at the same time. Such as that sense of time in a place you used to call home, or the feeling of strange wistfulness when you’ve been friend zoned; isn’t that right? 😛 My point is, humans were not built to feel things in black and white, we color outside of the lines.

As soon as I saw these words, I thought, “Wow, it’d be cool to feel all of those things.” That’s my new goal, or my New Year’s resolution. I would like to feel all of these things, obscure feelings that once had no name. I know some of them are not so great feelings, but if you’re never unhappy how can you be sure that you ARE happy, right?

Hope you enjoyed the excursion into the wonderfully chaotic tornado that is my mind! 🙂

Author; Neal Shusterman

I read this book for my teen book group, and it is a really amazing book. I love the imagination of all the different aspects of the story. Hope you read it!!

Society has evolved. People can no longer die of disease, hunger, or even “splatting” or jumping of a roof or into the way of a moving car for fun. People who die are called “deadish” and can be brought back to life inside a revival center. In order to keep the population under control, Scythes are established. They have a quota to fill and must glean, as they call it, people as they wish to do it.

Scythe Faraday met two young people in two different ways. He met Citra Terranova when he came to her house to borrow a knife to glean their neighbor. He met Rowan Damisch at his school when he came to glean a student there that Rowan did not know. He accompanied him until the student was dead.

Scythe Faraday decided that he would take on two apprentices, if they wanted it. Citra and Rowan both decided they wanted it. But there was a problem. They could not both be installed as scythes in a year, one of them must leave. It will be a competition, and Scythe Faraday will be the judge on who the new scythe must be.

At the Scythe Gathering, Citra and Rowan are challenged by one of Scythe Goddard’s followers. She says that they have been too comfortable with each other, and now they are pitted against each other. The one who wins the apprenticeship will have the “privilege” of gleaning the other.

Citra and Rowan both show strengths over the year, but something happens that leaves them petrified. Scythe Faraday dies. It is said that he self-gleaned, which is a violation of the scythe’s law. Citra is taken on by Honorable Scythe Curie, one of the most renowned scythes, nicknamed the Grande Dame of Death. Rowan, however, is taken on by Scythe Goddard, a vicious scythe who enjoys gleaning to the fullest.

What will happen between Citra and Rowan? Who will win the apprenticeship? Good questions, but I cannot answer them. Thank you for reading!

Personal Summary;

I love this book. I like the imagination that Neal Shusterman uses in this book. I like the idea of scythes and gleaning, and the Thunderhead, an extremely smart computer program (or so they think). Thank you so much Neal Shusterman for creating a great world! I also hope you read the sequel, Thunderhead. Very well written.

I rate this book 4 1/2 out of 5.

Sexual Content; none

Violence Content; reference to violence with all gleanings and pretty much everything (not too explicit)

Drug/Alcohol Content; none

I hope you enjoyed reading this review. I certainly enjoy writing them!
